"As I did not see you [the Manager] before leaving, I am taking an early opportunity to express my gratitude for the splendid care which I received from you and your associates during our recent visit. I do not know what I should have done, in the sudden attack which seemed to come upon me, had it not been for the sheltering wings of The Christian Science Benevolent Association sanatorium, which closed about me with such gentle assurance, and proved a veritable shelter in time of storm. It is difficult to express in words my appreciation of the helpful service, the patient loving-kindness, and the healing atmosphere which attended and surrounded me there.

"It is just a year since I had the privilege of being a guest in the sanatorium of The Christian Science Benevolent Association, and I cannot let this Thanksgiving season pass without saying how very grateful I am for all the blessings that have unfolded to me as a result of that visit. My heart is filled with gratitude to our dear Leader for having given us such a model of home, and all it includes. The sense of order was wonderful to me; also the ceaseless activity manifested everywhere, yet without friction, assertion, or interference, each one being about the Father's business and leaving every one else to be the same.
