In writing this testimony my greatest desire is to help those who are suffering from some sickness. A few years ago, after being ill a long time with stomach trouble, I decided to undergo an operation which, in the doctor's opinion, would free me from all pain. Such was not the case; for not only did my food no longer digest, but each day I was growing thinner; also, sharp and very painful attacks recurred. I understood very well that in spite of his faithfulness, the doctor was perplexed, and that all his knowledge could do nothing for me.

If I may express myself thus, I was only skin and bones, and I began to think I was facing death. It was then that Christian Science was spoken of to me and I was given some pamphlets to read. I attended the Wednesday evening testimony meetings for some time, then called a practitioner and started the study of the wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Finally I opened the Bible, something which I had not done since my childhood, and read each day the Lesson-Sermon.

Immediately an improvement took place. Nevertheless, one Sunday a more severe attack than the others overwhelmed me, and after suffering a good part of the day, I called a practitioner. As soon as she gave me a treatment, I became calm and slept peacefully. In the morning I awoke after an excellent night, and could go to my work without difficulty. Since that day the pain has never come back, and it is now two years ago. A few weeks after giving up all medicine I had gained thirty-three pounds.
