In 1910 my sight and my life were saved by Christian Science in a way that inspired wonder in those who witnessed the healing. Although Christian Science was entirely new to me, I at once recognized that it taught the truth about God and His power, which I had often glimpsed when a child; and I was glad to have found a religion with which I knew from the first I should desire to affiliate.

My people had represented a sufficient diversity of beliefs, being Baptists, "Christians," and "independent thinkers," and I was given the greatest freedom in the choice of religion; but I did not find any that offered the comfort, unity, and utility I looked for, until I was healed and inspired by the beauty and strength and truth of Christian Science. Besides the healing of my eyes and an acute complication of nerve and stomach trouble, there have been endless other blessings in our experience. My son was promptly healed of adenoids and a severe attendant cough; and I have been quickly healed of ptomaine poisoning, sprains, the effects of poison oak, and of more physical ills than I could well mention. Many of these demonstrations have been instantaneous, and all have given definite, certain, and ever comforting proof of "God with us."

That Christian Science purifies thought, dispels fear, and insures harmony makes it of inestimable value to the world in general. I am hourly grateful for this all-powerful law of God, which regenerates and uplifts humanity; and I am thankful for every step which has given me the privilege of coming closer to the Christian Science movement.
