Letters of Appreciation of The Christian Science Monitor

"With regard to the Monitor, I think it a most excellent idea to publish the translations of the Christian Science articles in the different languages. As you know, wherever there are churches or societies, we have also endeavored to establish Christian Science Reading Rooms. In them we have heretofore had the literature only in English, with the German and French Heralds, but hardly any at all in Swedish, As most of the frequenters of the Reading Room naturally are Swedes, and many of them are not able to enjoy the articles in English, it will be a boon to them to be able to read the Monitor articles."—E. J., Partille, Sweden.

"As a regular reader of the Monitor, may I send you a word of commendation regarding it? The whole make-up of this paper—editorials, news reports, and other features—is making a deep and vital impression upon the thinking people of the middle west of the United States, which is the section for which I feel I can speak. All of its columns radiate the sentiment, 'With malice toward none; with charity for all,' and it would be difficult to estimate its far-reaching influence for good. Your policy of keeping out of the columns of the Monitor reports of crime and vice, scandal and abuse, etc., and of giving aid and encouragement to a higher civilization and to better civic conditions everywhere, constitutes one of the greatest services you could render to the world.

"Please accept this slight expression of favorable criticism from one who has no affiliation with the Christian Science church."—H. L. T., La Crosse, Wisconsin.
