Divine Help Always at Hand

Christian Science is revealing the glorious fact to all who will listen to its inspired message, that divine help is always at hand. It is revealing God's true nature and man's true nature, and the true relationship which exists between God and man; and thus it is making clear the way whereby men may avail themselves of divine aid. The relationship between God and man is a perfectly established relationship, and to understand it and to put that understanding into practice is to insure the help of the Almighty.

The Psalmist sang: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble;" "I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears;" "Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence." What wonderful faith in God do the words evince! And they were first uttered centuries before Christ Jesus gave to the world his revelation of God, as the loving Father.

The revelation of the Father made by the Nazarene Prophet was indeed the greatest that had ever been given to men; and Jesus' understanding of God and of man's sonship with God enabled him to give it. One has but to peruse the Gospels of the New Testament to see what the understanding meant to himself, empowering him as it did to demonstrate divine help whenever the occasion necessitated it, and whatever its nature. When the multitude were anhungered, he was able to feed them; when the sick were brought before him, he healed them; and his knowledge of spiritual law supported him on the water, enabling him to annul so-called material law. Jesus demonstrated, fully and conclusively, that God is not afar off, but omnipresent; and that the power of God is available to meet every human need.
