I sincerely wish to express my gratitude for all that has...
I sincerely wish to express my gratitude for all that has come to me through the revealed truth given to us by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. In 1897, I graduated from a training school for nurses, and started out to help my brother-man. In 1907, I had a nervous breakdown, brought on by overwork and worry. The cry for some better way to help humanity brought me into Christian Science. I moved next door to a Christian Scientist, and through her kindness to me I became interested in this religion. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was lent me; and through reading the book the nervousness and insomnia, which had troubled me so long, left me. I did not know when; I awakened one day to the realization that I was eating and sleeping normally.
My first call for help from a practitioner was for an attack of the grippe, which was healed in a very short time. I have been healed of chronic sick headaches, tonsillitis, a sprained ankle, and many other physical ailments; also of a sense of lack. For these healings I am truly grateful; but far more grateful am I for the spiritual regeneration of my thinking, and for the joy of knowing that God is an ever present help, and that through this understanding I am able to help myself and my brother-man.
(Miss) Mary Slater, Seattle, Wash.
