I shall never cease to be grateful for the first healing which I received through Christian Science, for it proved beyond any doubt the great and grand truth that God is All-power and ever present Love.

For over twenty years I had suffered from chronic constipation, with hemorrhoids and other attendant complications. Medicine seemed to have become of greater importance to me than food, and I was so reduced and unhappy from the constant use of it that often I was tempted to wish I had finished with this mortal existence. After attending the Christian Science Wednesday evening testimony meetings for about three months, and hearing some wonderful testimonies of healing, I decided to visit a practitioner to see if one so badly off as I believed myself to be might also hope for healing. I remember the sense of wonder and joy experienced as the practitioner calmly and kindly assured me that "with God all things are possible." Having a distance to travel home, I had time on the way to reflect upon all I had heard, and on the wonderful passages the practitioner had quoted from the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. By the time I reached home, my mind was quite made up that in the future Truth would be my only Physician; so, I destroyed everything in the form of medicine, and put my trust in the living God. Within a week I was absolutely healed. Since then my general health has been excellent.

Another healing, for which I am very grateful indeed, came to my boy, twelve years of age. The condition, which was a rapid form of blood poisoning, was brought about while playing at school. One of his hands was tramped on and the skin broken. The boy thought nothing of it and continued his play. By evening, however, the hand was inflamed and swollen, as well as painful. We did our best to deny the reality of error, and to affirm God as the only power, but the hand became worse, one large spot after another appearing, until there were several, and severe pain was felt in the forearm. This condition was instantaneously healed in one treatment lovingly given by a practitioner, his Sunday school teacher. The same evening the swelling, inflammation, and pain had gone, and in a few days the skin was clean and smooth. Two weeks later, a large similar sore appeared on one knee, but by resolutely shutting out fear from our consciousness this too was quickly overcome, almost without discomfort.

These are just two of many healings we have had. Other discordant conditions, including unemployment, belief in lack, and personal faults in character, have also vanished through the application of the truth.

I am grateful for all the activities connected with Christian Science; for the helpful literature; for the Sunday school, where our children are being clad in the armor of light and liberty; and for the church services. Perhaps I am most grateful of all for the light which Christian Science sheds on the Bible. With the aid of the textbook, the study of the Bible, once a perplexing puzzle, has become a great pleasure. I am truly glad to have been led to this beautiful and practical religion because of the love and happiness it has brought into our home; and I earnestly hope that one day I may be found worthy to become a member of the church in which I have gained so much peace and joy.
