As
we progress in spiritual understanding, we grow in the realization of the need of depending more and more upon God for guidance and protection.
So
much depends upon the way in which we view things, that it behooves mankind to see the prime importance of getting the right view, which is, of course, the spiritual view.
Through
the study of Christian Science we learn to apply the truths of divine Being to our daily problems; and according to the degree of our understanding of these truths do we demonstrate or prove the power of the Word,—God's Word,—which is law.
Material
sense defines growth as an accretion of either material elements of material knowledge.
It
is related in the gospels that Jesus instructed his disciples, when he sent them forth to preach the kingdom of heaven and to heal the sick, "Whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
Kindly allow me to say a word in your columns by reason of a disrespectful comment on Christian Scientists and a mistaken statement about Christian Science which was reported in a recent issue of your paper.
When the writer of the article under consideration said: "Christian Science is a doctrine of denials.
The Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, has been the means of revealing to hundreds of thousands of men and women that it is possible to understand the Scriptures in such a way that God can be relied upon to heal "all thy diseases" and to solve all life's problems.
Christian Science does not ignore evil, but meets it as Jesus met it, destroying it through the spiritual understanding of God's allness.
If
