As I found comfort and peace in my trouble, I wish to tell others so that they too may have healing through the God of all comfort. Nearly ten years ago I had a severe nervous breakdown. I could not sleep; it seemed as if food would choke me; and my heart was irregular, so that I was distressed and worn out. Although in the care of a nurse and under medical treatment, I did not improve. The doctor suggested that I go to a sanitarium. I was told afterwards that he had said I could never recover. I decided not to leave home; but during this time my sisters were sending me Christian Science literature, and I asked the doctor what he thought about it. I shall always feel grateful for his answer, "If there is anything you think might help you, try it."

I commenced reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and comparing her statements with the Bible, and found that both stated the same great truths. I began to understand that God is our healer now, the same as when Jesus used that healing power for those who came to him for help. As my understanding grew, the nervous trouble disappeared and I was completely healed. In the years since then Christian Science has been the healer both for my husband and for me, and through applying its teachings I have been able to help others.
