About sixteen years ago I was obliged to turn from physicians after having been under their treatment, as the occasion demanded, for more than forty years. A time came when I seemed to lose all faith in material means; and my extremity was God's opportunity.

At this point of extreme mental and physical suffering I was impelled to go to one whom I had known for many years and who was a Christian Scientist; but I was not aware of it then. After a long talk with her, I asked her what she would do if she were in my condition; and she replied, "If you really would like me to tell you, I would say: Find a practitioner in Christian Science, and place the case under its treatment." This I did; and with the first treatment I was made free from many ills of the flesh. I kept up the treatment for some three weeks; and at the end of that time I decided to take a trip to the sunny South. I was there several weeks, and was very free all the time.
