I desire to give my testimony of a healing experienced...
I desire to give my testimony of a healing experienced about fourteen years ago. I arrived at home one evening feeling very ill. I called a Christian Science practitioner. The following morning a raging fever was manifested, developing into typhoid pneumonia. I endeavored to hold to the truth that God is the strength of my life, but in forty-eight hours had become so weak that I voiced the thought of passing on to the practitioner, who declared orally that God was my Life, and insisted that I make the same declaration. This I did, in a faint whisper, the rest of that night. The fight was won by morning, and I began to improve. In a few weeks I was about. I have enjoyed very good health from that time. I am grateful for the stand of my family during this trial. When things looked darkest they would softly sing one of Mrs. Eddy's hymns, and I would try to join with them. This brought much peace to us all.
More than twenty-six years have passed since Christian Science was brought to my attention. I did not know how to pray, because I did not know God. The first practitioner I called on for much needed help soon convinced me that I could become acquainted with God, and that our prayers are answered. I was healed and comforted. The effects were so great that my wife and our four daughters all took up the study of Christian Science. My wife, one daughter, and I have had class instruction, are members of The Mother Church, and doing all we can to serve God and our fellowmen through our understanding of Christian Science. For all these blessings I am indeed grateful.
