A consistent and unprejudiced reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...

A consistent and unprejudiced reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy will show that Christian Science is a religion. That it is based upon understanding of God as the only real power is the explanation of its great growth as expressed in the Christian Science church. The Christian Scientist proves to himself and for others that the understanding of who and what God is and of man's relation to Him is included in true prayer, the prayer that heals the sick. The Christian Scientist heals by dwelling with the truth, that deep truth that God, Spirit, Mind, is the everlasting Father,—unchanging Love, which is always present, helping and saving. He knows that God made man complete, and that He bestows only good on man. If then men seem sick, poor, and miserable, it is because of their own wrong thinking and their acceptance of the wrong thinking all about them. Isaiah says, "Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you." The remedy is to think aright, to think with God, casting all our care upon Him, knowing that God made and cares for man. Health, success, and beauty come from God; and we have only to claim understandingly our heritage to enjoy them. God's world and God's child express beauty,—that is, perfection.

It encourages all who love mankind and wish to heal its many woes, that the thought of many is turning away from material evidence and seeking refuge in better thinking. The important thing is to learn that the stream cannot rise higher than its source, and that the so-called human mind, whose wrong thinking has caused all mortal ills, cannot cure these ills. The supreme intelligence is our strength and refuge in trouble. The Bible method of healing for poverty is this: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
