Three years and a half ago Christian Science came to me at a time when life seemed rather unbearable—nothing but a chain of disillusions. I was unable to believe in the God of the old theology, and did not understand the Bible at all; but I had a faint idea that in spite of all the seeming chaos there must be some sort of law governing the world. At that time the light of Christian Science came and revealed the divine Principle of the universe, explaining it with irresistible logic, and yet so simply. Still more, it declared omnipotence to be ever present divine Love.

Though I did not take up the study of Christian Science for physical healing, through reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, during the first months I was perfectly healed of rheumatism and severe nerve pains that used to keep me awake in the night; also of bilious troubles of about ten years' standing. Since then we have had many healings in our family, some of them instantaneous.

Often the way has seemed to be a rugged one, but divine Love has always been there to meet every need. Time after time, I have been able to experience the truth of Mrs. Eddy's words in Science and Health (p. 267), "Thought is borrowed from a higher source than matter, and by reversal, errors serve as waymarks to the one Mind, in which all error disappears in celestial Truth;" and it has given me such an assurance that whatever comes into our experience is only a new lesson to teach us more about God, good. I have begun quite naturally to wonder, when a seeming difficulty has presented itself, what that condition, reversed by Truth, will bring of blessings.
