I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science, for what it has done and is doing for me. After suffering for a period of five years from lung trouble, as all material methods had failed to bring any relief and I had lost all faith in them, I turned to Christian Science, and was healed.

A Christian Science lecturer some years ago, in illustrating his remarks about the effects of good or evil thinking, said, "If you take a gas-filled rubber ball, which is perfectly round, and grip it in your hand tightly, it no longer retains its normal state; but when released it again becomes normal." Likewise, when I turned to Christian Science I found myself in the unholy and unhealthy gripping thoughts of lust, envy, jealousy, self-righteousness, hatred, revenge, resentment, dishonesty, fear, ill-temper, and evil-speaking of all kinds, which are the cause of all abnormal conditions. When these gave place to holy, uplifting thoughts of chastity, patience, kindness, humility, love, charity, honesty, courage, good temper, and good speaking, like the ball when released I too returned to my normal state, which is health, and in a degree learned the meaning of the Scriptural statement, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus," and of the Golden Rule, "Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them."

During the World War I was called to a local draft board, was examined by physicians in charge, pronounced in perfect physical condition, and accepted for service. Christian Science has been my only physician for the last thirteen years; and I am sincerely grateful to God and to Mrs. Eddy for the rediscovery of the Science that Jesus practiced.
