I should like to express my deepest appreciation for...
I should like to express my deepest appreciation for what Christian Science has meant to me for many years. I have had physical healing oftener than I can recall. Such has been the sustaining power of Truth that during ten years of service as a teacher I have lost only eight days through illness, five of which were during the epidemic of influenza in our city. I have been healed of grippe in its incipient stages many, many times.
The most wonderful healing I have experienced was that of an abnormal growth, which was quite apparent. For several months this enemy gave me pain at intervals, but on each occasion was quickly disposed of without fear on my part. However, it persistently returned, and at last assumed so malignant a nature that I became the victim of great fear. Thereupon I sought the help of a dear friend, a practitioner, and it was absolutely healed within a week. This occurred seven years ago, and I have had no recurrence of its least symptom.
My greatest blessings have come through the enlightenment I have received upon the Bible. To know that this revelation to our age has restored the method whereby Jesus of Nazareth healed sin and disease, inspires great thanksgiving in Truth-seekers. To feel that in the degree that we attain his understanding of Life, we too may in some measure repeat his works, glorifies existence and brings great joy and satisfaction. The sustaining power of this marvelous truth under seemingly unbearable trial, and its ability to uncover and destroy almost incredible evils, fill one with gratitude no words can express. To achieve, even in a small degree, victory over the evil devices of malice and revenge, thus gaining the consequent lessons in love and humility, enables one to understand what we owe to that con secrated Christian woman, Mary Baker Eddy. She with heroic steps blazed a path through the materialism of her age for faithful feet to follow.
