The Lectures

Stillwater, Okla. (First Church).—Introducing John J. Flinn, a Christian Science lecturer, to his audience, William E. Jackson said in part:—

Christian Science has brought to earth a rainbow of light. It has come to explain away material doctrines, and trample sin and disease underfoot. In an age like the present, when there is so much seeming discord and dissatisfaction, mankind is rapidly learning to look away from the false testimony of material sense for the harmony of Soul and to realize that right thinking really makes for freedom. A religion founded on the works of Jesus does supply health, love, peace, happiness, harmony, and will reestablish our understanding of man's God-given dominion over all. When discord finally turned me to the right way of thinking, my difficulties seemed too great to bear. At that point I realized that "man's extremity is God's opportunity."
