The Bible teaches that God is Spirit, omnipotent, omnipresent...

Motherwell Times

The Bible teaches that God is Spirit, omnipotent, omnipresent infinite, the one good, the only creator, Mind, Life, Truth, Love, and that man is made in the image and likeness of God. Christian Science accepts these statements unreservedly, and draws from them the logical conclusions that, since God is infinite Spirit, matter—the opposite of Spirit—has only a hypothetical existence and is nonintelligent; since God is omnipotent and omnipresent, there is no other power and no other real presence; since God is infinite good, evil has no real existence; and because man is made in the image and likeness of God, Spirit, the expression of the divine nature, perfect as the "Father which is in heaven is perfect," man must be spiritual and not material, not a sinning, sick, and dying mortal. The understanding of these facts of being is demonstrated in the healing of sin, sickness, sorrow, and poverty, which are thus proved to be but the results of the false belief that God is not infinite. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, has written (p. 330), "God is infinite, the only Life, substance, Spirit, or Soul, the only intelligence of the universe, including man;" also (p. 331): "The Scriptures imply that God is All-in-all. From this it follows that nothing possesses reality nor existence except the divine Mind and His ideas." It is this conception of a God who is infinite which Christian Science has made of such practical value in enabling mankind to meet and overcome the difficulties of human experience.
