It is with a heart full of gratitude that I send my testimony of what Christian Science has done and is doing for me. I have been healed of many physical ailments, among which were chicken pox, influenza, and a severe attack of acute indigestion. The last was met and overcome in two treatments. Though I am very grateful for the physical healings, words fail to express my gratitude for the spiritual enlightenment which comes to me daily through conscientious study and earnest application of the teachings of Christian Science.

A healing for which I am most grateful was the overcoming of hatred for my work. The healing came with the thought that the first miracle or demonstration of Jesus that is recorded was one of meeting a human need. I saw then that however poor or mean to mortal mind the occupation may seem, if it is meeting a human need it is Love's work, and should be done lovingly and cheerfully. My thought was uplifted, and my work has been a pleasure to me since.

Whenever the universal thought of discontent or overwork tries to find a loophole in consciousness it can always be dismissed with the understanding that we reflect Love, not error; for Love alone meets the human need. I have learned so many needful lessons through this demonstration that my gratitude can be expressed only in deeds, not words. My one ambition was to serve mankind as I wanted and planned to; but I have now learned that the best service to the greatest number is in willingness to obey. These words of our dear Leader best express the thought (Poems, p. 14):—
