Jesus of Nazareth opened the way for all mankind when he declared, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." I have had many reasons for rejoicing since I have learned to know the truth that makes free, the blessed truth revealed by Christ Jesus and explained to us through Christian Science.

Divine Love has so wonderfully met my deepest need that I feel impelled to speak about it, with the heartfelt hope that my experience may be as a cup of cold water for some weary wanderer in the wilderness of human belief. It is wonderful to know that through the power of Truth we can 84] overcome physical and mental discord; but this is as nothing compared with the spiritual healing. The Bible has become a new book to me; and money could not buy the understanding of the truth that I have gained through reading the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. This better understanding of God and of the Bible has changed my life from a state of discord to harmony. Many beautiful healings have been experienced, one of the most remarkable being that of a condition pronounced by a famous bonesetter—also by surgeons—as an incurable affection of a nerve in the foot; and who said the only relief that could be obtained would be by amputating part of the foot. This condition caused intense suffering for many years.

Through a healing which my wife experienced in Christian Science, after physicians declared she must undergo an operation, I was led to take up the study of the Bible, together with Science and Health. Through this study the condition of the foot was healed in a very short time, also other discordant conditions; for instance, the smoking habit, wearing of glasses, severe headaches, sarcasm, and temper; and many financial needs were met by applying the truth, as taught in our textbook. Many times God's ever-presence and protection have been proved to me while traveling; and many opportunities have been presented whereby others also have been blessed through the application of the truth.
