The Lectures

Stockton, Calif . (First and Second Churches).—From an introduction to a Christian Science lecture, by Mr. Minturn:—

There is an almost universal belief that the idealist is very far from being a practical person. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The greatest idealist who ever lived, Jesus the Christ, was also the most practical of men, as was proved in his healing of the sick, feeding the multitude, raising the dead, and by many other wonderful works. In the year 1866 Mrs. Eddy discovered the Science of the practical idealism of Jesus and named it Christian Science. To-day Christian Science is enabling those who are honestly using it, to do works similar to those of the great Master, thereby solving each human problem whether it be mental, physical, or financial, as it presents itself.
