Christian Science healing is not brought about by suggestion or auto-suggestion, as is supposed by a contributor, writing in an issue of your paper of recent date. The basis of all Christian Science healing is spiritual understanding. This spiritual understanding is gained through having the Mind of Christ, which distinguishes it from all so-called mental methods based on the action or exercise of the human or carnal mind.

Christian Science heals morally, mentally, and physically; and brings to the consciousness of the patient the kingdom of God. The carnal mind methods are not capable of destroying sin, nor of producing moral regeneration, which alone can come through the spiritual understanding of the teaching of our Master.
