I am thankful to God that I was led to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I had heard of Christian Science but had never paid much attention to it. I was taken sick and had three doctors and they all said I would have to be operated upon. I lay in bed and suffered for five weeks, getting worse all the time, till one day a young lady in the house advised me to read her copy of Science and Health, which I did, and became interested in it. She said, "I will get you a practitioner if you want me to but you will have to stop taking medicine." I lay there debating whether I would give up the medicine or not, and finally I said, "Yes." I started to read Science and Health earnestly and had a practitioner call on me, and inside of a week I was up, out of bed and could eat anything I wanted, and had no sign of pain. Words cannot express my gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy who gave Science and Health to the world. I am also grateful to the practitioner who so lovingly helped me to see the right way.
