I wish to express my thankfulness to God and gratitude...

I wish to express my thankfulness to God and gratitude to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for the wonderful understanding of the truth gained through studying Christian Science, which has changed my whole life. It was not physical help that brought me into Christian Science but my hungry longing for Truth, for the understanding which no church had been able to give me. I first heard of Christian Science after my return from active service, having served with the forces in German East Africa and Flanders for a period of three and one-half years. It was the agony of this dream which woke me up to look for peace and Truth. A friend invited me to attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting, and the wonderful testimonies given soon assured me that I had found the right path. A few days later I began to study "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, with the result that spiritual blindness left me and I began to look into a new world with great peace. I found myself uplifted morally and physically, and daily gaining more understanding of my true relationship to God. The church services, which were held at a private house, brought me great comfort and the daily study of the Lesson-Sermon was a help.

For fourteen years I had constantly used liquor, in moderate quantity, and had been a slave to the tobacco and cigarette habit, inhaling on an average thirty cigarettes daily for the same period of years. Through the wonderful words of Truth I have overcome bother habits. Divine Science has met all my daily needs and I have experienced great protection. I am very grateful for this wonderful revelation, which has uplifted me and made a new man of me. The literature is of great value and I enjoy reading it.
