A deep sense of gratitude for my knowledge of Christian Science...
A deep sense of gratitude for my knowledge of Christian Science impels me to send this testimony. In October, 1919, a heavy and sharp piece of furniture fell on my chest. From that day I experienced violent pain which finally led me to consult several doctors, among them a specialist of the city. Each one, after a thorough examination, diagnosed the difficulty as tumor of the breast, and they all advised an operation. The specialist whom I consulted last told me to make the necessary arrangements for an operation within one month at the latest. During this time the disease was making rapid progress; the suffering became more and more intolerable and allowed me no rest by day or night. I was in despair and spoke of it to one who knew of Christian Science. This person gave me the address of a practitioner and at the same time lent me a copy of the French translation of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I immediately started to read this wonderful book with great faith, and the more I read the more I felt the trouble vanish. At the end of the third chapter I had grasped some measure of understanding, and the disease disappeared completely. To-day the condition which for over a year had poisoned my life is but a faint memory. After having been completely healed I was taken with the fear of relapse. I asked a faithful practitioner to treat me for this, and fear was replaced by a definite assurance of healing.
I am so grateful for having found this treasure, which neither moth nor rust can corrupt, that I am trying to spread the truth by bringing a knowledge of the source of my healing to suffering ones who have been given up by the doctors. I have already had good results and this makes me that much more grateful for having found the way of Truth and of happiness which Mrs. Eddy pointed out to us. I thank all the loving Christian Scientists who have helped me along the road.—(Mrs.)Elisabeth Krause Rapin, Moudon, Switzerland.
