Having been the recipient of many blessings through the study and application of Christian Science, I feel it a privilege as well as a duty to tell of some of them, with the hope that they will prove a source of help and encouragement to others. I started to attend the Christian Science Sunday school over ten years ago, and while there obtained a glimpse of the great truth contained in Christian Science which has many times since proved invaluable to me. When our country entered the world war for freedom and Truth I enlisted in the Army, feeling confident that divine Love was both able and willing to preserve its ideas, even though to sense they were thrown into the very midst of the struggle. While in the service I had several beautiful proofs of God's care. One was the overcoming of an attack of measles through the loving help of a practitioner. At another time, while at the port of embarkation preparing to go overseas, I was attacked by the so-called Spanish influenza, but I was very quickly healed through the loving help of our Christian Science Camp Welfare worker. While on the high seas I was able to realize the ever presence of divine Love even in the hours of seeming peril.

I am of course grateful for these proofs of God's care, but am especially grateful for the Christian Science Camp Welfare work. I had the opportunity to realize what it meant to those who sought spiritual help both "over here" and "over there." The welfare rooms took the place of home to those of us who were apparently far away from it. Too much credit cannot be given to this noble activity of the Christian Science church, and I for one am truly grateful for it. Upon returning home I found that my former employers through unforeseen circumstances were unable to take me back. Instead of being discouraged, I set about to know that my supply did not depend on mortals but came from divine Love alone, and that God's ideas were already placed. I tried not to outline, but to seek divine guidance, and in a short while my place came to me from a most unexpected source. I am happy to say that it is better by far than the one I left.

For all these blessings and many others I am truly thankful to God and grateful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
