Christian Science was presented to me over twenty years ago. I was deeply impressed by its teaching as a theoretical religion, and thought if this idea of God could be made practical and govern mankind, Christian Science would indeed be the way of salvation; but I did not believe in its healing efficacy. I soon had an opportunity to put it to the test, however, for I was taken sick with a chill accompanied by high fever. As I felt myself growing steadily worse, the next day I sent word to my mother, who was a Christian Scientist, to come and give me a treatment. This request was complied with and I experienced an instantaneous healing. Within half an hour I arose and dressed myself. Needless to say, I had the sign which my doubting sense demanded, and was satisfied. I saw that the garment of Christ could not be divided, that the purpose of the Christ, Truth, was to purify and bless and heal absolutely and unreservedly. I saw that Christian Science was corroborative of the teachings of the Bible.

Christian Science has taught me the truth about God and man. It has taught me to pray aright, and is teaching me daily the omnipotence of good and the unreality of evil. Through this truth that our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, revealed to us my life has been changed and purified, and I have brought this glorious light to many another weary pilgrim, which I feel is indeed the greatest privilege.
