When "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...

When "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy was first lent me to read I was awaiting an operation. For some years past I had been constantly under medical treatment and undergoing operations; in fact, I had never known what it was to be strong or able to do what other people considered was the ordinary daily round of work. My lack of health was a continual source of anxiety to my relatives.

My first healing, that of my eyes, came quite naturally while I was reading Science and Health. I had been wearing glasses for reading, writing, and working, and according to the medical verdict I was always to do so, but my sight is quite normal now and I never wear glasses. One of my knees had been put out of joint and injured several times, so that it could be used only with great caution and was always bandaged. I asked for Christian Science treatment for this and received instantaneous and permanent healing. Before knowing of this demonstrable religion I had become accustomed to spending most of the day lying down and could walk very little. There seemed to be an internal weakness. Now I am strong and well and can do whatever work the day may bring forth. Three years ago, when in India, I wrote to England asking for treatment for a very severe and persistent cough, and with the arrival of the letter I received immediate healing.

For the past eight years, since I have known of Christian Science, all erroneous physical conditions that have arisen have been overcome by this truth. I am most grateful for the unfailing help and healing that Christian Science has given me physically, mentally, morally; and especially for the spiritual understanding of Truth that is unfolding to my consciousness. Much gratitude is due to all those who have unfailingly helped me whenever and wherever the need arose; also for the Christian Science literature, for the privilege of helping in church work, and for class instruction. Ceaseless gratitude goes out to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her wonderful courage, spiritual understanding, and love, which enabled her to give this truth for the uplift and healing of mankind.
