I became fully convinced as to the demonstrable healing...
I became fully convinced as to the demonstrable healing power of Christian Science after the complete healing of an ingrowing nail on my foot which had troubled me very much for about three years. Shortly before making this first demonstration I had been gradually coming to a point where I doubted not only the Bible but the existence of God Himself. This I believe was caused by the fact that I was practically interested in nothing but the study of natural science, and therefore was learning to doubt all statements which could not be proved to be demonstrable facts dependent upon fixed laws. For this reason the most beautiful sermon excited only hope for the time being and then was forgotten entirely. Although claiming to be a student of physical science, the thought never occurred to me that Christianity could be scientific or that the Bible was based on a scientific fact; namely, a divine Principle which rules all science. I feel deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy for showing me how my love for scientific studies can be applied to the subject of religion, and for the spirit of enlightenment which this has made possible.—Fred A. Gritzner, Rochester, N. Y.
