In the fall of 1906 I heard of Christian Science through a dear sister who had been healed of chronic ailments. I cannot express the joy and feeling of happiness it gave me to know the truth about God and man. For years I had taken drugs prescribed by different doctors, with only temporary relief. My healing was not quick, but I am not sorry; for during the time of treatment I was getting spiritual understanding, which was best of all. Stomach disorder and sleeplessness were soon healed. The other difficulties, such as heart, liver, kidney, and throat troubles in very severe forms, yielded more slowly. I could not swallow any solid food for two years. I had spells of strangling every day, and thought each one would end my life; but with the help of a practitioner and my own faithful study, I have overcome it all.

I would say to others who are waiting for healing, Do not be discouraged; study, and get understanding, and your healing will come. I wish to express my gratitude for our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who brought this demonstrable truth to us all; also for the Sentinel and Journal, and for all our literature that is teaching us to live nearer to God.
