Never
was there a time when so many prayers for protection ascended from so many loving hearts; prayers that are worded in many strange tongues but with one common purpose, and directed to one common Father who understands them all even before they are uttered.
About
twelve years ago when I was first learning of Christian Science and how to apply it in overcoming all discordant conditions, physical and mental, I heard another student of this truth say that whenever error presented itself to her so strongly that a clear comprehension of the Lesson-Sermon or consecutive reading from the Bible or Science and Health seemed impossible, the singing of familiar hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal was resorted to, and peace was always realized.
Prophets and poets, psalmists and apostles, have iterated for ages that true richness is mental; but it has remained for Mary Baker Eddy to rediscover the Principle of real abundance as well as of real health, and to explain this Principle so thoroughly in the nineteenth century that all may avail themselves of spiritual wealth as actually sufficient for every need.
Christ Jesus, in fulfilling his avowed mission of bearing witness unto the truth, overcame sin, sickness, and death, thereby proving these conditions to be without divine authority, hence untrue in the sight of God.
Christian Science does not teach such nonsense as that there is "no such thing as pain" and "that if we thought of something else, pain and sickness would pass away.
The Bulletin of February 20 contains a news item to the effect that Californians who do not believe in drugs nor rely upon medical doctors for healing, are opposed to compulsory health insurance.
Early in August, 1917, a few students of Christian Science in the ranks of what was then the—National Guard, determined that lack of a Christian Science organization in the near vicinity could act as no obstacle to their attending services while in camp.

Seven years ago, at a time when I felt a sense of need, my attention was first drawn to Christian Science by some Sentinels that were lent to me, and I procured a copy of Science and Health.
In my travels as a seafaring man I came to New Orleans, Louisiana, in June, 1915, and there I met a lady, a frequenter of the Christian Science church, who talked of this religion to me and offered to bring some literature on board for me to read on the voyage.
Christian Science came to me seven years ago, about a month before I suffered a great bereavement, so that I received "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" first as a comforter—and a wonderful comforter it proved to be, beyond my power to express in words.
I want to tell the world how grateful and glad I am that I have found God,—have found that I can know Him, and understand Him, and adore Him, as Mind, Love, and can live in His presence now.
