It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I tell of what divine Love has done for me and mine through Christian Science. Besides the many daily blessings received, there is one in particular of which I wish to speak. In the college which our son is attending, materia medica laid down the law that there was an epidemic of typhoid fever. After he had been kept in bed for three days, he was declared to have this ailment, and was sent home nearly starved.

We had no intimation of our son's condition until he arrived at home with an attendant. His first request was for Christian Science treatment, as he had had enough of medical treatment in the three days, so we telephoned for a practitioner. Upon her arrival she told my son he could have something to eat and need not stay in bed if he felt like getting up. Accordingly he was down-stairs nearly every day for an hour or two. Neither his father nor I had much fear until the seventh day, and then it was quickly overcome by the loving words of the practitioner, who assured us that God was taking care of him.

The next day we saw that the case was met, and from that time on the boy ate whatever he wished and seemed unable to get enough. In three weeks and four days from the time he came home he went back to college, looking and feeling as well as ever, and began playing basket ball with the college team. This was a few days before Thanksgiving, 1914, and at Christmas, when he came to spend the holidays with us, he was the only one of those who had been sent home ill who had as yet returned to college.
