I gladly testify to the efficacy of Christian Science treatment for the healing of both sin and disease. For many years I was bitterly opposed to what I thought Christian Science to be, but finally extreme nervousness, restlessness, discontent, and serious physical disorders compelled me to seek relief outside of material remedies, and I turned to Science. I had suffered from violent headaches since childhood. These attacks are becoming less and less frequent, and I know that my fear of them is being destroyed. Internal inflammation was so bad that one of the best physicians in Los Angeles told me I could not expect to have any health without an operation; but this trouble was one of the first to be perfectly healed in Science. I have also been permanently healed of annual attacks of influenza, of bronchitis, and of a cough of a serious and distressing nature, from which I suffered every year.

In reviewing the blessings of physical healing I feel that I cannot be grateful enough. It means much to have been transformed from a complaining, irritable, always fatigued and half-sick being, into one whose health may be called perfect; but I have found treasures that mean even more to me than this physical wholeness. I have found that I do not have to fret and worry, since a knowledge of Principle has been given me whereby every problem and trial can be mastered. Through my study of the Bible in connection with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I have learned that God, good, is All, is Spirit, and is the only power, presence, or reality. This realization is destroying the belief of a stormy and tempestuous disposition and of so-called ungovernable temper, so that my consciousness is being filled with some measure of divine Love, and a harsh and critical attitude toward mankind in general is giving way to Christian charity.

I once thought that my earnest study of Christian Science would protect me from the trials I saw people all around me passing through, but these same trials have come to me to purge my thought of hatred and satisfaction in matter, and to establish in my consciousness a right concept of God. I found that my old concept of God was wrong, and that it brought me suffering and torment; now the right understanding has brought me healing of mind and body. I long to bring health and happiness to others, and this I can do by trying daily to live the precepts of the Master.
