Christian Science came into my life in April, 1911, and I consider the physical healing but a small part of the good it has brought to me, compared with the practical knowledge it has revealed in the working out of my salvation. Ever since early childhood I had suffered from severe attacks of bleeding at the nose, and they were very weakening. My eyes also caused me much pain and trouble; in fact, for more than ten years I had been unable to find a remedy that would permit me to read or write, as glasses fitted by specialists gave no relief. With all this I had lost in weight, and generally speaking was almost a wreck. The whole world, as far as I was concerned, was one of despair and discouragement.

From the first Christian Science treatment I have been able to read without any discomfort whatever, although for the first few weeks Science and Health was the only book I could read. This proved to me from the start that Christian Science is the truth. Gradually, as I was honest in my study, the other ailments vanished.

I am very grateful for the physical healing, but even more so for the spiritual awakening, which has freed me from all desire for liquor and gambling, as well as from many other evil tendencies that make for destruction. Christian Science has given me the strength to resist the would-be destroyer and a firm desire to be useful, to serve God in the only practical way. I am grateful to God for His perfect creation and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for making it possible for us to free ourselves from the sins of the world. I have received many more blessings through the application of the truth in Christian Science.
