Sometimes
the teaching of Christian Science as to universal love presents a seeming difficulty to the beginner, clinging fast, as mortals do, to a false sense of love as mere personal regard.
Underlying
the whole field of the gospel narratives is a precious vein wherein the diligent searcher, intent upon finding the gold, may discover rich deposits to reward his industry and application.
The very able contribution in a recent issue on "The Gospel of Power," contains an unfortunate reference to the Christian Science teaching on the subject of sin,—unfortunate in that the statement while true does not when taken alone adequately present what Christian Science really teaches regarding sin.
A writer in the Jewish Times has recently taken occasion to condemn that which he believes to be Christian Science, but it is quite evident to any one who has any understanding of the subject that he is speaking from hearsay, rather than from any actual knowledge of Christian Science.
What the world demands today is a practical religion which meets the needs of humanity in sickness and in health, and which gives to mankind a higher and better concept of God and man, of man's indestructible relationship with God.
I am eager to express my gratitude for the many blessings received through Christian Science in the past fifteen years, for it has sustained me through sickness, grief, and loss.

For three years I have been enjoying splendid health and greater spiritual understanding, and therefore feel that I must give to the world, in some measure at least, my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me.
Christian Science came into my life in April, 1911, and I consider the physical healing but a small part of the good it has brought to me, compared with the practical knowledge it has revealed in the working out of my salvation.
A sense of gratitude and joy induces me to testify that Christian Science has brought me a better understanding of God, and that through it I have been freed of much disease and suffering.
I have received so much help spiritually and physically through Christian Science that I am sending this testimony in the hope that it may help some one who has almost given up hope of ever being well again, as I had done.
