A memorial to Mary Baker Eddy, Founder of the Christian Science church, is to be erected in Mount Auburn cemetery. The propriety of some action of that kind will be recognized by all. No matter what may be any one's opinion of the Christian Science denomination or the character of its doctrines or faith, the organization and growth of the church is one of the marvels of the time. The denomination itself, with its wonderful organization and unity of purpose, is a striking testimonial of the vitality of its teachings, and demonstrates that its Founder is entitled to be classed as one of the great characters of the century. Any one who has made such an impression upon the religious thought of the world as has Mrs. Eddy, should be memorialized in marble as well as in the hearts and minds of those who follow her teachings.
