It is with a grateful heart that I wish to tell of the help...
It is with a grateful heart that I wish to tell of the help and the blessing as well as of the instantaneous healings which I have experienced during the last three years through God in Christian Science. For a period of twenty years I could not make up my mind to become a member of any church,—yet I had often felt that there must be a church which would impart the right understanding of God and teach us to pray aright,—until one Sunday, when attending a Christian Science service, I immediately realized that this was the church for which I had so long been seeking.
My first experience was the healing of an ulcerated tooth after two physicians and two dentists had failed to relieve me. Through treatment given by a Christian Science practitioner I was freed from the dreadful pain and the attendant swelling. The second instance was that of a severe attack of cold accompanied by pain in the lungs, and consequently by great difficulty of breathing during one whole night. At eight o'clock in the morning treatment from a Christian Science practitioner was requested by telephone, for I was unable to lift my head from sheer weakness. At half past eight I arose, dressed, and worked all day without experiencing any fatigue; indeed, was entirely well. Again, after the physician had said he could do nothing more, Christian Science completely freed me in a month's time of asthma, with which I had been afflicted for five years. Next came a most serious case of neuritis. I would often have these attacks, and so severely as to be unable to go up and down stairs. The physician had given me no hope whatever of cure, but with every Christian Science treatment the pain grew less, until I was entirely freed from the trouble.
One day my right hand began to swell, intense pain set in, and there seemed to be an inflamed condition extending to the upper arm. I was unable to dress without experiencing great pain. The hand appeared to be paralyzed, and, although I did my best in trying to cope with the trouble, my efforts seemed to be unsuccessful. After five days of struggle I went to a Christian Science practitioner. This was at ten o'clock in the forenoon. Half an hour later all swelling and pain had disappeared, and thanks be to God, I regained the normal use of the hand.
