It is now over seven years since I first heard of this healing truth. While teaching school I boarded with a lady who was a Christian Science practitioner, and merely to find out what this religion was, I began asking questions. To my astonishment I found I was being relieved of a load which I had carried since childhood,—the fear of eternal punishment, not so much for myself as for my loved ones. My happiness in finding such a new—old truth knew no bounds, for I was simply a different person ; I was free.

I studied Christian Science for a few months, then to please my parents I gave it up, and for five years lived without it, trying to find peace and comfort through the old thought, but never being satisfied. Something always made me think of Christian Science with a longing to take it up again. I had kept my copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" in my trunk all this time, and one day I took it out and began to study it anew. From that day to this there has been hardly a day when my husband and I have not read the Lesson—Sermon together. We live on a farm, and often we have found the power of Truth "a very present help in trouble," for the animals as well as for ourselves and our two children.

I have never had better health than now, and I can accomplish as much work as would keep two persons busy, yet without feeling at all tired when evening comes. I am indeed thankful that I was led to the light, for I cannot see how I could ever live without Christian Science. While not yet members of the Christian Science church, we hope to be before long. Words cannot express our gratitude for the understanding of the Bible that has been revealed to us through the study of Science and Health. We are deeply thankful to God that we have found the truth.
