I was living in Sioux City, Iowa, at the time I turned to Christian Science for healing, and for almost fifteen years it has met all my needs. I had never been well or strong, was always tired, it seemed to me, and finally I gave up completely when I was taken with what is called a nervous breakdown. When I began taking Christian Science treatment I was asked to read the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and the first time I read the book through it seemed a mere jumble of words. I was, however, told to begin again, so I did, and I had not read very far when this statement on page 203 stood out very clearly: "If God were understood instead of being merely believed, this understanding would establish health."
Through the study of Christian Science I am learning to understand God, whereas before I had merely believed; and as I gain this understanding I have better health and greater happiness than I have ever known. I am indeed grateful for the truth as revealed to this age by Mrs. Eddy.
