I am very grateful for what Christian Science has done for me and my family. I was sick for five years, and during that time was treated by three different physicians, who said my condition was due to an internal fibroid growth. They decided that an operation was necessary, and that it was the only thing which would do me any good. The time was agreed upon, and all necessary arrangements were made for me to go to the hospital. Then a dear friend told me about Christian Science, and begged me to try it before submitting to the operation. I therefore wrote to my physician and told him I was not going to the hospital for a week or so later than the date agreed upon. I am very glad, and grateful too, for this decision, as the growth disappeared and I have never needed to have the operation performed. That was fifteen years ago.

My husband was healed of hemorrhoids and a severe case of rheumatism in a few treatments, while my youngest daughter was cured of appendicitis in a few days. Several years ago my eldest daughter was healed through Christian Science of what the doctors diagnosed as congestion of the brain in a most alarming form. For all of these benefits we are most thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy for what she has done for mankind in giving us Science and Health. —Ella Burtner, Allerton, Ill.
