It is with an ever increasing sense of gratitude that I can testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. More than nine years ago I was most wonderfully illumined spiritually by the reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Many physical ailments and sinful habits were also overcome, some by the reading of the text-book, others by the help of a practitioner. Before I became interested in this religion I lost much time from my employment because of physical illness, but since then I have lost no time in this way.
In addition to this, I was, after making many voluntary changes of employment, again confronted with the seeming necessity of finding a place. My growth in the understanding of Christian Science had been sufficient to lessen the fear to a large degree; nevertheless it seemed necessary to take about a week's time for special study of the Bible and Science and Health, with a constant realization of the allness of God and His omnipresence, and man the perfect reflection, before I could with sufficient confidence take the needed steps. After this time I felt sure that my reasonable efforts would be rewarded, and I then started to find my place. It was plain to me that my footsteps were directed by divine Love.
It was necessary, however, to put down all sense of doubt as to the way I should take, and to know that guidance for each step would be supplied. With this in thought I was able to tread upon every serpent of suggestion that would cause fear or mislead, and so was enabled to go without delay to the place where I was wanted; and I have now held this position about two years. The place has proven to be one rich in opportunity to see and know how to reflect gentleness and kindness, which was my greatest need, although this was not realized at the time I sought employment.
