I am very glad to have the opportunity to write a few words about what this wonderful truth, Christian Science, has done for me, hoping that they may help those who are looking for something to meet their human need. When we know God as He is revealed in Christian Science, an all-loving Father; when we gain a spiritual understanding of Truth, we begin to know how to live and meet every human experience.

I used to be in ill health most of the time, and subject to spells when I would have to go to bed. I grew from bad to worse, and once I was taken sick and for ten days could not sit up or move. I suffered great pain, and nothing would relieve me but a hypodermic. I had two doctors, also a specialist from the city, and they said I would not be any better until I had an operation. Knowing what my sister had suffered in this way, I could not think of submitting to this ordeal. Being advised to try Christian Science, I decided to do so, and my first treatment was at nine o'clock in the evening. At half-past nine I found I could raise myself up, and at midnight I got out of bed on to my feet. Next morning I walked to the dining-room and ate breakfast with the rest of the family. The pain was all gone, and I was only a little weak. After three weeks' treatment I was healed. I live up-stairs, and the steps do not bother me at all, as they once did. On one occasion I had an attack of acute lung trouble. I had had it twice before, and I knew what it was. This time there was very high fever and pain in my lungs, and I suffered terribly, but it was all overcome in two treatments. I got out of bed and did not miss one night from my work as telegraph operator.

Christian Science has also helped my little boy wonderfully. He came home from school sick, and I thought it was mumps, though he suffered dreadfully. My husband, not being a Christian Scientist, insisted on calling a doctor, who said it was a bad case of enlarged gland and that he would not be any better under ten days. I then called the practitioner and told her what the doctor had said. With the second treatment the discord was overcome, for when the child awoke the next morning he said he was well; and indeed he was. In the course of a few days the lump was gone. I forgot to say that the doctor also said the boy would probably have an abscess but no abscess developed. Surely this is divine Love meeting our human need,—and what more could we want?
