Nearly five years ago I took up the study of Christian Science, and I send this testimony with a sense of deep gratitude to God for the many blessings that have come to me through the truth as revealed by a study of the Bible with the aid of the Christian Science text-book. With the kind help of a practitioner I was healed of distressing headaches, rheumatism, and stomach trouble, which I had had for many years, and which I had come to believer were incurable. I had tried many physicians and specialists as well as all kinds of baths, electricity, physical culture, etc. During the last five years I have had many proofs of the efficacy of Christian Science in business as well as in overcoming physical inharmony, and can truthfully say that it meets every need when honestly and faithfully applied. Since coming into Christian Science, the freedom from mental inharmony, such as discouragement, melancholy, and sensitiveness, have in a large measure been destroyed, and for the spiritual uplift I can never express enough gratitude.
I wish also to tell of a recent experience. An abscess appeared on my back, so that I could neither walk nor sit, but in less than six days, with the help of a practitioner, I was able to be up and again attend to my business affairs, whereas in a similar experience which I had had some fifteen years ago, I was compelled to lie in bed three weeks, with constant poulticing night and day, and to have a physician open and cleanse the same, all of which was very painful. To say that I am thankful can never express enough of the love and gratitude I feel toward God, as well as toward Mrs. Eddy, for the light that has come to me and mine, and to all followers of the truth. I am indeed grateful for the Christian Science literature, the Monitor, Sentinel, and Journal, which bring us healing and spiritual uplift.
