I was taken, about four years ago, with severe pains in the stomach, which came on periodically. Different doctors treated me for different diseases, with no benefit to me. In November, 1910, I was taken so severely ill that my physician thought I would do better in a hospital, and sent me to one in New York. There I came under the care of another physician, who diagnosed the case as gall-stones, after an X-ray examination. He said I must be operated on, but I told him I would have to wait until my husband returned from South America, where he had gone in search of health. I was taken home in December, 1910, on his return, much emaciated. My old physician called to see me, and said he was not sure of gall-stones, but told my husband that I had a heart lesion, and must be kept absolutely quiet.

I remained in this condition till the early fall of 1911, when I procured a copy of Science and Health, which I read carefully. I began to feel better, and in about four months I was in perfect health, as I am today. I cannot say too much in praise of Mrs. Eddy for the wonderful work she has done. I am reminded of the allegory on page 430 of Science and Health of the poor fellow who "committed liver-complaint." I was charged with having "committed" gall-stones and heart disease, but was set free by Christian Science.
