Frankfurt a. M., Germany.—The department of our church work for the distribution of literature was organized in the spring of 1910, with a distribution committee and two assistants. At present there are four workers in this branch, one a man, but all are Germans; and through the activity and tactfulness of these workers, fresh channels for the outflow of Christian Science literature are rapidly being opened up. A local Cosmopolitan Club has accepted subscriptions for the Monitor and the Sentinel for its reading-room, also a copy of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. There, as well as in all the libraries, and in nearly all public places, the Christian Scientists are kindly and courteously received. Press attacks on Christian Science have greatly decreased in this state since 1910, though the chief dailies still exclude from their columns anything in favor of the movement. I am glad to report a much friendlier attitude toward Christian Science on the part of the clergy of the state church. Several prominent west German churchmen have alluded publicly to Christian Science as a religion that heals the sick. Another interesting item is that Christian Science has penetrated to the district lunatic asylum, and through the medium of Der Herold der Christian Science has already effected one liberation.
