It is now about twenty-five years since I first heard of Christian Science, but I did not get hold of the Science as taught by Mrs. Eddy until within the last ten years when I was finally started right. In all that time, however, I have seen most wonderful cures effected. When I first understood that God made only what is good, it was to me a wonderful revelation. It seemed as if the heavens had opened. The first thing I was healed of was a diseased ear, caused by a grain of wheat getting into it when I was a child. Then came the healing of a dislocated knee-joint when I was fifty or more; but I could not begin to tell in one testimony all I have seen and experienced. My husband was healed of an internal injury caused by a heavy fall. We were at New Castle, Col., at the time, at my daughter's, but he asked for Christian Science treatment at once, and we soon started for home. Though he looked very pale, he had no pain; but shortly after we reached home the pain came so severely that he was afraid he would not survive it. My other daughter thought that as he was not a Christian Scientist we should send for a doctor, so one was called from New Castle, on the telephone. Meantime, treatment in Christian Science was kept up, and as the doctor had three miles to come, by the time he reached us my husband was free from pain, and he took only one of the tablets left by the doctor. In a few weeks he was perfectly well. Since then he has been healed of poisoning and a very distressing malady, for his stomach and bowels were in an alarming condition. My sister, who is not a Scientist, was with us, and she said that if something was not done he would soon pass away; but my husband refused all offers of material help, and got well, and is much stronger than he used to be.

I could write pages, but will only tell of a few more cases. Our little grandchild was healed of the after effects of a terrible disease; his appearance was such that I could hardly bear to look at him. He could not be understood when attempting to speak, his eyes were crossed, and he was unable to walk, but a practitioner in Salt Lake took up the case and gave him absent treatment. He began to mend immediately, and in five weeks the treatment was discontinued. I saw this same boy healed of acute throat trouble when he was about three years old, though almost an entire family were swept away at the same time under medical treatment, and this time no help was called for outside the family. Another grandchild was healed of a bad form of croup a few years afterward.

No wonder that we are glad of the understanding of Christian Science! As I read one of the editorials in a recent issue of the Journal, I was brought to realize more than ever what a great work Mrs. Eddy has done. I am so thankful for the periodicals! I close with a song of thanksgiving for all I have learned of Truth and Love.
