After five years' enjoyment of the blessings experienced through Christian Science, it becomes my duty to contribute this testimony of my appreciation of all that has been unfolded to me. I suppose that no one has been more antagonistic to Christian Science than was I, or has made greater efforts to remove it from their home, after the truth had once secured a foothold there, for I did all in my power to cast it from me. I was a fairly strong and healthy man, and the physical healing did not appeal to me; but as the months went by and my wife and children had done all in their power to point out this truth to me, the time finally came when I could no longer withhold the acknowledgment that there had been a great change in our home, and it seemed to me that I was the only one there who did not move in an atmosphere of love and happiness. My mental state was about as miserable as that of any mortal could be, and under these conditions I applied to a practitioner, requesting her to show me what my wife possessed that I did not. In just four days my healing came, and very soon afterward I was ready to stand in a Wednesday evening meeting and tell those dear people that thereafter their God should be my God, and their people, my people. I can truly say that the happiest period of my life has been from that time on.

I wish to write of a demonstration which I think is very remarkable. One of my teeth had been troubling me for about four months, and there appeared to be quite a large cavity; but although I had declared the truth for myself, the time came when it was impossible for me to use that side of my mouth, and I finally concluded to see the dentist about it. Shortly before keeping my appointment with him, however, I called up my wife and asked her for her help during the ordeal, at the same time declaring the truth to the best of my ability, both before and after arriving at his office. I did all that I could to help the dentist locate the affected tooth, but after a thorough examination he informed me that he thought I was mistaken. I again pointed out to him just where the trouble appeared to be, and he made another thorough examination. Finally he stepped back with a puzzled expression on his face and said that he could not understand why I had come to him, as he could find absolutely no tooth which required attention; but inasmuch as I had caused him so much trouble, he would fill a small cavity which was just appearing on the other side of my mouth, and this would be the extent of the service which he could render me. It is needless to say that I was more than pleased with my experience, for when I got out of his office I found that the seeming cavity had disappeared. Although this took place in November, 1908, from that time until the present I have not experienced the slightest trouble from that tooth or from any of the others.
