It is with a heart full of gratitude that I give my testimony of healing in Christian Science. More than six years ago, after my little son was born, I constantly felt weak, and could not very well perform my household duties. This went along until about four years ago, when my little boy was two and a half years old; then I took to bed and had hemorrhages. As my little boy had been benefited by Christian Science, my husband asked me if he should call a practitioner, which he did, and before she came the pain ceased and I had relief otherwise. Without this there would have been an operation needed, which I could not have endured, for I was very weak at that time; but with Christian Science I gained strength for about three weeks. Then one day, when I was alone with my sister, I had another hemorrhage, and she became so frightened that before I could stop her she called in the nearest doctor. Just then my husband came in, and the doctor said he must perform an operation within the next twenty-four hours; but when the doctor had gone my husband telephoned for the practitioner, who was absent at that time. She soon came, however, and asked my husband if he wished me to go through the operation, to which he said no. Then the practitioner said that we had our help right here with us. There was such strength and firmness in those words that it dispelled all the fear which had seemed to creep in at that moment. I received one more treatment, and from that time on I improved so quickly that in another three weeks I was perfectly healed.

My sister wants me to tell of the great blessing she received through Christian Science by the healing of her child. A little over two years ago her little girl, four years old, was badly scalded on the limbs and lower portion of the body. They tried to put on material remedies to relieve her pain, but the child began to suffer so severely that the next day they sent for a practitioner, and after the first treatment, all manifestations of pain and fever disappeared. This was on a Monday, and by Friday morning the burned tissue fell off like a sheet from her body and limbs and there was a perfectly natural skin under it. One more treatment overcame the sense of weakness in her limbs, on which she had been unable to stand. The following Monday they took her out walking, and in two weeks there was not a trace of the injury to be seen.

Seven months after this the child met with another accident. While playing outdoors, she fell and badly injured her arm. Christian Science was again called upon, and treatment began. The child fell asleep in spite of the sense of pain, but the practitioner advised the parents to call a doctor, which they did. When the doctor came, he awoke the child and placed the arm in a bandage. The practitioner, who had remained in an adjoining room, told them to put the child to bed, and ten minutes later she was sound asleep, and slept all night until next morning. When the doctor called later, he found her at the dinner table. When he asked if she had cried much, if she had fever, etc., the only answer they could give him was "No." The result was that the next night the child laid her arm under her body and slept and rested well, used her hand with perfect ease the next day, went out to play with the rest of the children, and during all the time never manifested any sense of pain or discomfort. The doctor was asked to take off the bandage, which he refused to do, but did so in two weeks. This was the last of the trouble. I myself, and my husband, feel grateful, and so do my sister and her husband. All our blessings we owe to Christian Science.
