When I began the study of Christian Science, nearly fourteen years ago, it was not for physical healing alone, but because I had become convinced that it was the truth I had long been seeking; that the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, contained the secret of life and immortality. Since that time I have had abundant proof of the healing power of Truth and Love in my own family, and have also had opportunities for helping others. Within a few months after I began to read Science and Health and to put into practise the truth so far as I understood it, I was healed of goiter, which was the last physical ailment for which I took medical treatment. Twice I have had an attack of erysipelas to meet, and it has been overcome both times through my own understanding, without help from a practitioner. I was in bed two days each time, and was out on the street in seven days, the first time, and in eight days after the second attack.

Six years ago, my daughter was healed of two felons which appeared simultaneously on one hand. She lost no time from school on account of them, but was excused from written work for a few days, because it was the right hand which was affected. Later in the same year she was taken with rheumatism. Her suffering was so great that through personal sympathy and fear I was unable to meet the case alone; and as there was no practitioner in town on whom to call for help, it seemed advisable, her father not being a Christian Scientist, to call in a homeopathic physician who had given her her last medical treatment, five years before. In less than a week, however, she begged me to dismiss the physician and send for help in Christian Science, which I did. The practitioner came to see her once, and gave her four weeks' absent treatment. She was quickly relieved of the distressing symptoms, in two weeks she was able to come down-stairs and to dispense with the services of the nurse, and from that time improved rapidly.

This is by no means all the healing that has been done in my household; but I think it sufficient to prove to any one my cause for gratitude to God, the giver of every good and perfect gift, and to Mrs. Eddy, through whom the truth was brought to the present generation.
