It is with deep thankfulness to God, and sincere gratitude...
It is with deep thankfulness to God, and sincere gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, that I give this testimony. I came to Christian Science in July, 1909, for physical healing. In the summer of 1908 I fell and severely injured both of my ankles, bruising the legs from my knees down. I received the best medical attention, but grew steadily worse, until I was forced through intense suffering to resort to opiates almost constantly. I then decided to turn to Christian Science as a last resort, and a friend kindly loaned me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." I realize that it had to be spiritually discerned, and I prayed for understanding to read the book.
On the morning that I began to read, I removed the elastic bandages which I had worn for a year, willing to trust to God. I read slowly and carefully, and by the end of ten days I was perfectly and permanently healed of my lameness. The ligaments had all gone back into their proper places, and all pain and discoloration had vanished. I continued to read, and almost before I was aware of it, I had been healed of a chronic bowel difficulty of fourteen years' duration, also of chronic bronchitis, from which I had suffered for about eight years.
A few months after I began to study Christian Science, I suddenly became deaf. There being a belief of inherited deafness in my family, I was so filled with fear that I was unable to help myself; so, after two weeks, I called upon a practitioner for help. He gave me two treatments, after which my hearing was perfectly restored. Through the work of this same practitioner I have since been healed of acute illness, also neuralgia, fever, headache, a skin disease, and other ailments. Almost all of these healings were instantaneous.
