It is with a deep sense of gratitude to God, that I submit...
It is with a deep sense of gratitude to God, that I submit this testimony to the efficacy of Christian Science to heal and to comfort. This truth has been my unfailing help in times of distress and sorrow for a number of years. It has truly been to me a "sovereign panacea" (Science and Health, p. 407). Errors of all sorts have fled before the light of Truth, and out of the knowledge of what God is, there has grown such a sense of harmony and peace that words fail to express my love and thankfulness.
Many physical troubles have been overcome for me, and for me, and for my family, through Christian Science. A severe of so-called ptomaine poisoning was cured in two days; and throat trouble in a malignant form, also rheumatism, yielded almost instantly to the power of divine Love. There have likewise been several speedy and beautiful recoveries from accidents.
During a period of deep disappointment and trouble, Christian Science was indeed my comforter; and after weeks of constant effort to rise above the depression and sense of sadness with which I seemed bound, I suddenly came into the full realization of what Mrs. Eddy means when she says that "sorrow is not the master of joy" (Science and Health, p. 304). Every dark shadow of mental suffering left me. I even came to be glad for trials, because of them surely come some of our greatest blessings. I am truly grateful for the peace and joy and which surround me, and for the knowledge I have of Truth, which, slight as it may seem, is sufficient to guide me into a fuller realization of my divine inheritance. My gratitude to Mrs. Eddy is boundless, and it is my earnest desire to express this thankfulness in loyalty and obedience to the teachings which she has so lovingly and courageously given us.
